چکیده

We propose and investigate thermometry of a setup employing dual quantum dots with staircase ground state configuration. The stair-case configuration actuates thermally controlled inelastic tunnelling, which translates into temperature sensitive conductance, thereby inducing thermometry. performance the set-up is then analyzed master equation (QME) for such systems in sequential tunnelling regime. In particular, it demonstrated that system performance, terms sensitivity efficiency, maximum regime low temperature, making suitable cryogenic proposed can pave path towards realization high nano sensors.

Spin blockade in ground state resonance of a quantum dot

– We present measurements on spin blockade in a laterally integrated quantum dot. The dot is tuned into the regime of strong Coulomb blockade, confining ∼ 50 electrons. At certain electronic states we find an additional mechanism suppressing electron transport. This we identify as spin blockade at zero bias, possibly accompanied by a change in orbital momentum in subsequent dot ground states. W...

Ground state of the parallel double quantum dot system.

We resolve the controversy regarding the ground state of the parallel double quantum dot system near half filling. The numerical renormalization group predicts an underscreened Kondo state with residual spin-1/2 magnetic moment, ln2 residual impurity entropy, and unitary conductance, while the Bethe ansatz solution predicts a fully screened impurity, regular Fermi-liquid ground state, and zero ...

Quantum current modeling in nano-transistors with a quantum dot

Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) serve as a new class of ‘zero dimensional’ nanomaterial’s in thecarbon class with sizes below 10 nm. As light emitting nanocrystals, QDs are assembled from semiconductormaterials, from the elements in the periodic groups of II-VI, III-V or IV-VI, mainly thanks to impacts of quantum confinement QDs have unique optical properties such as brighter, highly pho...

Staircase Quantum Dots Configuration in Nanowires for Optimized Thermoelectric Power

The performance of thermoelectric energy harvesters can be improved by nanostructures that exploit inelastic transport processes. One prototype is the three-terminal hopping thermoelectric device where electron hopping between quantum-dots are driven by hot phonons. Such three-terminal hopping thermoelectric devices have potential in achieving high efficiency or power via inelastic transport an...
